北魏丘县属阳郡。隋开皇10年（590年）置郓城县，廪丘县属之。大业初，省廪丘县并入郓城县。

西汉于郓邑故地置廪丘县（治在今山东郓城县郓城镇西北19公里水堡），属东郡。东汉属济阴郡。曹魏、晋为州刺史治所。
