边城郡，北魏泰始三年（466年)，北魏占领麻步山（后为麻埠镇，今已没入响安徽洪甸水库），设边城郡。南梁改为西边城郡，属霍州市。西魏、北齐天保七年（556）废。南梁置，侨治西阳县，即今湖北黄冈市区东南。隋开皇三年（583）废。
